The eats

For dinner, I cut an eight inch slice of Tartine country bread and melted cheese over it in my toaster oven. I also fried two strips of Niman ranch bacon, and using the rendered fat, I sunny-side-upped a very fresh organic egg. I laid the bacon and the egg on the bread, and then added a pinch of salt and a couple turns of fresh cracked pepper.

As I put my fork and knife into my quasi-croque madame, I stopped to stare at it. I admired how crisply my bacon was fried and how decadent the glistening yoke of my egg looked. The Tartine bread needed no validation.
Had I been Lorenzo, I probably would have first taken a picture of it, ate it, and then sent Jim Lee a text that said "tartine bread w/ chees, niman bacon, and fried eg," and then put my picture on my flickr account.

Instead, I prepared and ate a Trader Joe's vegetarian burrito with a vegetable salad.
I'm still not quite sure what to do with the first thing I made.
